What Claude can do for you
You decide how far Claude can go. The module settings have a few plain switches. Each one opens one area of your shop. Every paid licence includes all of them; the switches are there so you stay in control.
Start: read only
After installation Claude can read and report, but not change anything. This is read-only mode. Turn it off in the module settings when you want Claude to make changes. Until then you can ask, for example:
Find products without a description.
Which products sold best in September?
Check whether anything is broken in my shop.
The switches
| Switch | What Claude can do | After installation |
|---|---|---|
| Shop info | Know your PrestaShop version, languages and settings | Always on |
| Content and SEO | Read and improve product, category and page texts, SEO titles and descriptions, photo descriptions, categories, features, page addresses, blog posts; undo its own changes | On, but read only until you turn read-only mode off |
| Prices and promotions | Change prices, set promotions on products, categories and brands, create discount codes, manage variants, update stock, set free shipping over an amount and carrier prices | Off until you turn it on |
| Look of the shop | Change theme files, with a backup first; change where modules appear on the page; clear the cache | Off. Works only through the separate service connector |
| Modules | Switch modules on and off, change their settings, install and update modules from a ZIP file, edit module files with a backup | Off. Works only through the service connector |
| Service mode | Work like a developer: store files, the database, PrestaShop settings. Switched on for 1, 4, 8 or 24 hours, then it turns itself off | Off. Works only through the service connector |
Content and SEO
The everyday work. Claude saves changes the same way an employee clicks Save in the back office, so other modules and the search on your shop see a normal edit. Each part (catalog, SEO, pages, blog, sales statistics, history) has its own switch. Blog tools appear only if you use the SmartBlog module.
What to type:
Write meta descriptions for all products in Sofas. Show me the preview first.
Prices and promotions
Everything that changes what customers pay. A wrong price costs money quickly, so this switch is off until you turn it on. Extra safeguards:
- Claude can't set a price to 0.
- A price change of more than 30% needs your extra approval.
- A new discount code is created switched off. You check it, then Claude switches it on.
- Discount codes can't be deleted, only switched off.
What to type:
Put 15% off all sofas from Friday to Sunday.
Tip: turn the switch on for the sale, then off again.
Look of the shop
Theme changes can break a page, so they need a second, separate connector (the service connector) that works only from approved addresses. Before each change the module saves a backup, and any backup can be brought back.
What to type:
Add "Free delivery over 250 PLN" under the price on the product page.
Modules
Claude switches modules on and off (the module's data stays), changes their settings, installs or updates a module from a ZIP file at an https address you give, and when needed edits a module file after making a backup. It warns you about payment and shipping modules. Uninstalling deletes the module's data and can't be undone, so Claude suggests switching the module off first, and to uninstall you have to type the module's name. Changes to module files are lost when the module is updated, so it's better to change a module's look in the Look of the shop block.
What to write:
Switch off the newsletter pop-up module.
Service mode
For the moments when you'd usually need a developer. You switch it on for 1, 4, 8 or 24 hours, then it turns itself off. During that time Claude can read and change store files, read and change the database, and PrestaShop settings. Every change has a preview. The module makes a backup before a file or database rows change. Files with database passwords and keys are blocked, and customer data in the database is available only at the level you set. Changes to the database structure (for example dropping a table) can't be undone, and Claude says so before saving.
What to write:
After the update the store shows a blank page. Check the files and settings.
What happens when a switch is off
Claude doesn't see the tools behind it, so it won't offer to do things it can't. If you ask anyway, it tells you which switch to turn on. Switching something off works straight away, even in a conversation that is already open.
