Fix headings and image descriptions in the homepage slider

Paid versionAppearance & deployments

Your homepage gets one clear main heading and slider images get descriptions, which helps Google understand the page.

What it replaces: 1 h of developer time

What you write to Claude

„check the homepage slider. if every slide title is an h1, change the module template so they're not, and add alt texts based on slide titles”

The problem

Our homepage slider makes every slide title a main heading, so the homepage has five of them. Slide images also have no descriptions.

What Claude does

  1. Claude checks the headings on the homepage.
  2. It copies the slider's layout into your theme.
  3. It changes slide titles to normal text and uses them as image descriptions.
  4. After your yes it saves with a backup and checks the homepage again.

What you get

The homepage has one main heading and slider images have descriptions.

You stay in control

You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Changes to the shop's look use a separate, extra-protected connection, usually set up by whoever looks after your shop. Every file is backed up before it changes.

Step by step

  1. Confirms the headings with ps_inspect_page (headings section).
  2. Finds the slider module and any existing override (ps_list_modules, ps_list_theme_files).
  3. Creates a theme override with ps_override_module_template (action copy, module, template) and changes slide titles to a non-heading element, using the slide title as alt fallback.
  4. Shows the diff preview; saves after your approval with a backup and clears the cache.
  5. Re-inspects the homepage for one H1.

Safety

Block 3 works only through the service connector: a separate token accepted only from allowlisted IP addresses, off after installation. Claude changes the module's look through a template override in your theme (ps_override_module_template), so a module update leaves it alone. The override is a theme file, backed up before every write and restorable with ps_restore_file_backup. If the change could only be made inside the module itself, Claude says so: direct edits of module files are possible in Modules (block 4, ps_module_file, with backup), but a module update erases them.
