Run a promotion on a whole brand or category
One rule discounts the whole brand for the dates you choose, including products added later, and ends by itself.
What it replaces: 2-3 h of setting discounts product by product
What you write to Claude
„20% off everything from Bosch in Power tools and Garden, 1 to 31 may. new Bosch products should get it too. check it doesn't clash with other promos”
The problem
The supplier funds 20% off all Bosch tools in May. That's 180 products, and new ones arrive mid-month.
What Claude does
- Claude finds the brand and categories and counts the products the promotion would cover.
- It checks for other promotions on them and warns where discounts would not add up.
- It shows sample prices before and after, with the dates.
- After your yes it saves one promotion rule that ends by itself.
What you get
Every Bosch product in those categories shows the sale price in May, new arrivals included, and prices go back on 1 June.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Prices, discounts and stock stay switched off until you turn them on, and unusually large changes need an extra confirmation.

Step by step
- Finds manufacturer and category IDs with ps_search_products and ps_get_category_tree.
- Lists existing rules with ps_manage_catalog_price_rules (action list) and product promotions with ps_manage_specific_prices (action list).
- Calls ps_manage_catalog_price_rules (action add: category_ids with include_subcategories, manufacturer_ids, 20 percent, date_from/date_to); the preview shows the product count and sample prices before and after, and warns that discounts don't stack (PrestaShop applies one).
- Saves after approval; ends early with action delete or ps_revert_change.
Safety
Commerce (block 2) runs on the daily connector, is off after installation and has its own switch. Claude acts as the connector's PrestaShop employee, so the action must also be allowed in that employee's profile. Every write shows a preview, runs only after your approval (single-use token valid 30 minutes, blocked if the data changed in the back office in the meantime), is logged in the change history and can be undone with ps_revert_change. A discount above 50% gives a warning and above 90% needs allow_big_change. The rule also applies to products added later that match its conditions.
