Bring back the previous version of the shop's look after a bad change
A broken menu or layout is back to yesterday's version in minutes, without searching through server backups.
What it replaces: 1-2 h of finding and restoring files on the server
What you write to Claude
„the header looks broken since the last change. show me backups of header.tpl and restore the one from before 2026-10-01”
The problem
Something we changed in the header last week broke the menu on mobile. I want yesterday's version back.
What Claude does
- Claude lists the saved versions of the file with dates.
- It shows the difference between now and the version you pick.
- After your yes it restores it, keeping the broken version as a backup too.
- It checks the page.
What you get
The file is back to the chosen version. The broken version is also kept as a backup.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Changes to the shop's look use a separate, extra-protected connection, usually set up by whoever looks after your shop. Every file is backed up before it changes.
Related use cases
- Undo a batch of changes

- Make the shop show your latest changes

Step by step
- Lists backups with ps_list_file_backups (path filter: header.tpl): backup ID, date, size.
- Calls ps_restore_file_backup without confirm. The preview shows the diff between the current file and the backup.
- After your approval, backs up the current version first, then restores. The restore itself can be undone.
- Clears the cache and checks the page with ps_inspect_page.
Safety
Block 3 works only through the service connector: a separate token accepted only from allowlisted IP addresses, off after installation. Theme files are backed up automatically before every write and can be restored with ps_restore_file_backup. Limit: 20 theme file writes per hour. If the backup was taken before the file existed, restoring writes an empty file; the preview shows this.
