Correct stock levels after an inventory count
Your shop stock matches the warehouse after an inventory count, without editing items one by one.
What it replaces: 1-2 h of editing stock product by product
What you write to Claude
„here's the count (reference; counted qty). set stock to these numbers, sizes included. show me shop vs counted first”
The problem
We counted the warehouse on Saturday. About 40 items differ from what the shop shows, some of them sizes of the same shirt.
What Claude does
- You paste the count: product code and quantity.
- Claude matches each line to a product or size.
- You see shop stock, counted stock and the difference.
- After your yes it saves, and each correction is recorded in the stock history.
What you get
Shop stock matches the count, sizes and variants included, and every correction is visible in the stock history.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Prices, discounts and stock stay switched off until you turn them on, and unusually large changes need an extra confirmation.

- ps_search_products, ps_get_product, ps_update_stock
Step by step
- Matches each reference to a product or combination with ps_search_products and ps_get_product.
- Calls ps_update_stock without confirm with the counted values (up to 100 items per call).
- Shows the preview: current stock, counted stock and the difference, with large differences flagged.
- After your approval, saves through PrestaShop's stock, records a stock movement for each line and fires the stock update hook, so modules that sync stock (marketplaces, ERP) get the new numbers.
- Lists references it couldn't match, so nothing is skipped silently.
Safety
Commerce (block 2) runs on the daily connector, is off after installation and has its own switch. Claude acts as the connector's PrestaShop employee, so the action must also be allowed in that employee's profile. Every write shows a preview, runs only after your approval (single-use token valid 30 minutes, blocked if the data changed in the back office in the meantime), is logged in the change history and can be undone with ps_revert_change. Every stock change is recorded as a stock movement. If a sync module also writes stock, check it after the change so the two don't overwrite each other.
