Raise or lower prices for a whole category
A supplier price increase is applied to a whole category in minutes, without typos.
What it replaces: 1-3 h of editing prices or a spreadsheet import
What you write to Claude
„raise prices in Work gloves by 6% net. show me old and new price for each product before you change anything”
The problem
The supplier raised prices by 6%. I have to update 180 products and I always make a typo somewhere.
What Claude does
- Claude lists the products and current prices in the category.
- It calculates the new prices.
- You see a table with old and new prices, net and gross, and the change in percent.
- After your yes it saves, and the whole batch can be undone.
What you get
Prices in the category change by the agreed percentage. Nothing changes outside the category.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Prices, discounts and stock stay switched off until you turn them on, and unusually large changes need an extra confirmation.

- ps_get_category_tree, ps_search_products, ps_update_prices, ps_list_changes, ps_revert_change
Step by step
- Finds the category with ps_get_category_tree and lists its products and current prices with ps_search_products.
- Calculates the new net prices and calls ps_update_prices without confirm, in batches of up to 100 products.
- Shows the preview: product, old and new net and gross price, change in percent. Unusual results are flagged.
- After your approval, saves through PrestaShop's product object, so modules hooked to product saves react as after a back-office save.
- Gives you the operation IDs (ps_list_changes), so each batch can be reverted with ps_revert_change.
Safety
Commerce (block 2) runs on the daily connector, is off after installation and has its own switch. Claude acts as the connector's PrestaShop employee, so the action must also be allowed in that employee's profile. Every write shows a preview, runs only after your approval (single-use token valid 30 minutes, blocked if the data changed in the back office in the meantime), is logged in the change history and can be undone with ps_revert_change. A price of 0 can't be set, and a change above 30% is refused unless you explicitly allow it (allow_big_change).
