Get the whole shop ready for Black Friday

Paid versionCommerceReady job: Get ready for Black Friday

Black Friday is planned, checked and scheduled days ahead, with no discounts on empty shelves and nothing to switch off by hand afterwards.

What it replaces: a long evening of setting up promotions

What you write to Claude

„prep black friday: 25% off Furniture and Lighting from friday 00:00 to monday 23:59, free shipping from 50 euro that weekend, check stock and photos on the discounted products and tell me what's missing”

The problem

Last year the Black Friday discounts went live on products that were out of stock, and weekend free shipping never got switched on.

What Claude does

  1. Claude looks at last year's sales and this year's stock to pick what's worth discounting.
  2. It checks the chosen products for stock, photos and descriptions, and lists what to fix first.
  3. It prepares the discounts and weekend free shipping with start and end times, each saved only after your yes.
  4. It keeps a list of everything it set up, ready for the clean-up after the weekend.

What you get

Discounts and free shipping are scheduled to start and end by themselves, gaps on discounted products are listed, and there is a record of everything for the clean-up.

You stay in control

You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Prices, discounts and stock stay switched off until you turn them on, and unusually large changes need an extra confirmation.

Step by step

  1. Reads last year's Black Friday sales with ps_get_product_sales (date range, compare_previous) and finds gaps with ps_search_products (missing images, short descriptions, zero stock); hidden products are checked with ps_diagnose_product_visibility.
  2. Checks overlapping promotions with ps_manage_catalog_price_rules and ps_manage_specific_prices (action list).
  3. Adds category rules with ps_manage_catalog_price_rules (action add: category_ids, 25%, date_from/time_from to date_to/time_to).
  4. Adds weekend free shipping as an automatic cart rule with ps_manage_cart_rules (action create: free_shipping, minimum_amount, dates, auto_apply=true); it is created inactive and switched on after a separate approval. The shop-wide threshold (ps_update_shipping) has no end date, so it is not used here.
  5. Lists the campaign's operations with ps_list_changes so the Clean up after a promotion job can find them.

Safety

Commerce (block 2) runs on the daily connector, is off after installation and has its own switch. Claude acts as the connector's PrestaShop employee, so the action must also be allowed in that employee's profile. Every write shows a preview, runs only after your approval (single-use token valid 30 minutes, blocked if the data changed in the back office in the meantime), is logged in the change history and can be undone with ps_revert_change. Discounts don't stack; the preview warns where a product already has a promotion. Cart rules are created inactive. 25% stays below the 50% warning threshold.
