Change the colour of the add-to-cart button
Your most important button stands out in your brand colour, without paying a developer.
What it replaces: 30-60 min of developer time
What you write to Claude
„make the add to cart button our green #2E7D32 with white text, slightly darker on hover”
The problem
The add-to-cart button is grey and blends in. I want it in our green, but I don't touch code.
What Claude does
- You give Claude the colour.
- Claude prepares the change in your theme's own style file and shows exactly what changes.
- After your yes it saves, after backing up the file.
- It checks a product page to confirm the new look.
What you get
The button uses your colour on every product page. The original file can be restored from its backup.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Changes to the shop's look use a separate, extra-protected connection, usually set up by whoever looks after your shop. Every file is backed up before it changes.
Related use cases
- Make the shop show your latest changes
- Bring back the previous version of the shop's look after a bad change
- Hide or tidy an element on mobile
- Protect your theme changes from theme updates

- ps_list_theme_files, ps_read_theme_file, ps_write_theme_file, ps_clear_cache, ps_inspect_page
Step by step
- Finds assets/css/custom.css with ps_list_theme_files (the compiled theme.css can be overwritten when the theme is rebuilt).
- Reads the current file with ps_read_theme_file.
- Calls ps_write_theme_file with the new rule. The preview shows the diff and the file is validated before saving.
- After your approval, saves the file (an automatic backup is made first) and clears the Smarty cache with ps_clear_cache (also previewed).
- Checks the product page with ps_inspect_page.
Safety
Block 3 works only through the service connector: a separate token accepted only from allowlisted IP addresses, off after installation. Theme files are backed up automatically before every write and can be restored with ps_restore_file_backup. Limit: 20 theme file writes per hour. Preview and approval apply to every file write.
