Change a shop setting buried deep in the back office
The setting you need is found and changed in one request, with the old value kept so it can be put back.
What it replaces: 30 min of searching settings screens
What you write to Claude
„find the canonical redirect setting and switch it from 302 to 301, then try the product address change again”
The problem
Claude says it can't change a product's address because the shop forwards visitors with a temporary redirect. I have no idea where that setting lives.
What Claude does
- Claude searches the shop's settings by name and shows the current value.
- It explains what the change does in plain words.
- After your yes it changes that one setting; passwords and keys are never shown.
- It checks that the change works, then carries on with the original job.
What you get
The shop uses the setting you need, and the job that was blocked can go ahead.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved and nothing happens without your yes. This deep repair access uses the separate, extra-protected connection, works only for the few hours you switch it on, and keeps a copy of every changed file or record.

- ps_config, ps_change_url, ps_inspect_page
Step by step
- Finds the key with ps_config (action get, search CANONICAL): PS_CANONICAL_REDIRECT (0 none, 1 = 302, 2 = 301).
- Calls ps_config (action set, key, value 2); the preview shows the old and new value. Secrets are always hidden and the connector's own settings cannot be changed.
- Undo with ps_revert_change.
- Re-runs ps_change_url and confirms with ps_inspect_page that the old address now returns 301.
Safety
Service mode (block 5) works only through the service connector (separate token, allowlisted IP addresses) and only while its time-limited switch is on (1, 4, 8 or 24 h); then it switches itself off, and the owner gets an e-mail when it is switched on. ps_config changes one key per call and hides secrets. The configuration table cannot be reached through ps_db_query or ps_db_execute.
