Copy a product to start a similar one
A similar product is ready in minutes with sizes, features and categories copied, and nobody sees it before you check it.
What it replaces: 30-60 min per similar product
What you write to Claude
„make a copy of the Oslo armchair as Oslo armchair velvet green, without the photos, and rewrite the description for velvet. leave it switched off”
The problem
We're adding the same armchair in a new fabric. It has the same sizes, features and category, and I'd rather not build it from scratch.
What Claude does
- Claude finds the original product and shows what will be copied.
- It makes the copy with the new name, switched off.
- It rewrites the description and the Google title for the new version.
- When you're happy, it switches the copy on.
What you get
The new product has the original's structure and its own texts, and goes live only when you say so.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later.
Related use cases

- Tools
- ps_get_product, ps_create_product, ps_update_product_content, ps_set_product_redirect
Step by step
- Reads the source with ps_get_product.
- Calls ps_create_product (action duplicate, source, name, with_images=false), like Duplicate in the back office: categories, combinations, features and specific prices are copied; the copy is inactive.
- Rewrites description, short description and meta with ps_update_product_content per language, with preview.
- Activates the copy with ps_set_product_redirect (activate=true) after your approval.
Safety
Every write shows a preview first and runs only after you approve it (one-time token, valid 30 minutes). Each change is logged and can be undone with ps_revert_change. Promotions of the original are copied too; the preview lists them. Undo deletes the copy if it is not in any order.
