The problem
The supplier sent a spreadsheet with 40 new items: names, codes, prices and photo links. Typing each one into the product form takes me two days.
What Claude does
- Claude reads your list and checks which items are already in the shop, so nothing is added twice.
- It prepares each product with name, code, price, category and a description in your shop's tone.
- You see the whole batch before anything is saved; new products start switched off.
- It adds the photos from the supplier's links and describes them for Google.
- When you've checked them, it switches the products on, and refuses any product without a price.
What you get
New products sit in the right category with descriptions, photos and prices, switched off until you say go. Sizes and colours for new items are still added in the product form.
You stay in control
You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later.

Step by step
- Checks for existing products by reference and EAN with ps_search_products and finds the category ID with ps_get_category_tree.
- Calls ps_create_product (action create) per item: name, description, description_short, meta_title, meta_description, reference, ean13, price_gross, category_ids, weight, manufacturer_id, quantity. New products are inactive; the preview lists the batch and waits for your approval.
- Adds photos with ps_manage_product_images (action add: public https image URLs, up to 10 per call, JPEG/PNG/GIF/WebP up to 10 MB; cover=true for the first new image; legend = alt text).
- Text is written into all shop languages at creation; other languages are translated afterwards with ps_update_product_content.
- After your check, activates the drafts with ps_set_product_redirect (activate=true); a product priced 0 is refused, missing photos, stock or description give a warning.
Safety
Every write shows a preview first and runs only after you approve it (one-time token, valid 30 minutes). Each change is logged and can be undone with ps_revert_change. Undo deletes a created product only if it is not in any order. Images are fetched only from public https addresses. Generating combinations for a new product is not part of the tool; it is done in the back office.
