Check if the work fits the limits
ps_check_capacity
Before a bigger job, checks whether it fits the hourly limits you set in the module panel, so Claude never stops halfway.
Free TellMyShop Audit: Yes. This tool is in the free TellMyShop Audit. It only reads your store and never changes anything.
Ask Claude
„Can you rewrite the descriptions of all 300 products in Garden lighting today?”
Example answer
Does not fit in full. Needed: about 318 calls and 6 writes; left this hour: 112 of 120 calls and 60 of 60 writes. About 103 of 300 products fit now (room starts to free up around 14:35). Options: 1. Stages: 103 now, the rest in the next hours. 2. Raise the calls limit in the panel to 330 for the duration of the work. 3. Cheaper: read the products from search lists instead of one by one.
Technical details
Checks, before a larger job starts, whether it fits the connector limits set in the module panel: tool calls, writes and file writes per hour. Give the number of items to change (items), the batch size (batch_size, default 50, the most one write call accepts), the planned read calls (reads, for example one ps_get_product per product; default one list per batch) and the number of files (files, separate limit). Returns a table of limit, used, left and needed for this hour, the plan (items, batches, reads) and a verdict: it fits in full, or it does not, with how many items fit now, when room starts to free up and to what value to raise each limit. Claude then tells the owner in one sentence and, when it does not fit, proposes one way before starting: stages, raising the limit in the panel for the duration of the work, or a cheaper way (search lists instead of single reads, bigger batches). The limits are shared by the daily and service connectors; through the service connector in service mode it also says when service mode switches itself off. Use it before work on more than about 20 items, in several batches or on several files.
Parameters
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| items | integer | yes | How many items (products, categories, pages) you will change in total. Range 0 to 100,000. |
| batch_size | integer | no | Items in one write batch (default 50, the most one call accepts). Range 1 to 50. |
| reads | integer | no | Planned read calls (for example ps_get_product for each product, or search lists). Default: one list per batch. Range 0 to 100,000. |
| files | integer | no | How many files (theme, modules) you will change. Separate limit. Range 0 to 1000. |
Limits
Read only: it changes nothing and counts as one call. items is required. The call count is an estimate: each batch counts 3 calls (preview, write, check) plus the reads; writes are exact, one batch of up to 50 items is one write, and each file counts as one write and one file write. The limits are the panel's hourly limits (default 120 calls, 60 writes, 20 file writes), counted over the last 60 minutes. Always available, through both connectors and in both editions (also in Audit).
