Check that a big job fits your hourly limits before it starts

Works in the free TellMyShop AuditContent & SEO

Before any work starts you know whether it fits this hour, and if not, which way to go: stages, a higher limit for a while, or a cheaper way.

What it replaces: no job stopped halfway

What you write to Claude

„Will 300 product descriptions fit in one session?”

The problem

I want new descriptions for 300 products, but the module panel has hourly limits. I don't want Claude to stop halfway and leave half the catalogue done.

What Claude does

  1. Claude counts the products the job covers and how many it will read and save.
  2. It compares that with what is left this hour of the limits you set in the module panel.
  3. It tells you in one sentence: it fits, or it doesn't.
  4. If it doesn't, it proposes one way before starting: stages, raising the limit in the panel for the duration of the work, or a cheaper way.

What you get

A clear answer before the job starts: it fits in one session, or a plan in stages with what happens now and what later. Nothing in the shop changes.

You stay in control

Claude only reads and counts. You decide whether to work in stages or raise the limit in the module panel for a while.

Step by step

  1. Counts the products in scope with ps_search_products (for example a category or products missing a description).
  2. Calls ps_check_capacity with items=300, batch_size=50 and reads=300 when it plans one ps_get_product per product (or fewer when it reads from search lists).
  3. Reads the table of limit, used, left and needed for calls, writes and file writes this hour, and the verdict: fits in full, or how many items fit now, when room frees up and to what value to raise each limit.
  4. Tells the owner in one sentence and, when it does not fit, proposes stages, a higher limit in the panel (Settings) for the duration of the work, or a cheaper way (search lists instead of single reads, bigger batches).
  5. During the work every preview and write shows what is left this hour; the write limit is checked before saving, so a batch never stops halfway.

Safety

Read-only: the check changes nothing and counts as one call. The limits stay as set in the panel; Claude never raises them itself. Works in the free Audit edition and in whole-shop read-only mode.
