Find out why the shop search doesn't find a product
Works in the free TellMyShop AuditContent & SEO
Customers can find the product again, and you know why it went missing.
What it replaces: 30 min of guessing per product
What you write to Claude
„why doesn't my search find 'linen sofa cover'? the product is there, I can open it by link”
The problem
When I type the product name in my own shop's search box, nothing comes up. Customers can't find it either.
What Claude does
- Claude finds the product by part of its name.
- It checks whether the shop search knows about it and where the product is set to be visible.
- It explains the cause, for example the product is set to show only in categories, not in search.
- It points you to the setting to change.
What you get
A clear answer why search skips the product and what to change. Nothing is saved.
You stay in control
Claude only reads. Nothing in your shop changes.

Step by step
- Finds the product with ps_search_products by name fragment.
- Runs ps_diagnose_product_visibility with context set to search, which checks the search index entry, visibility setting (catalog only, search only, nowhere) and activity.
- Explains the cause in plain words, for example the product visibility is set to catalog only.
- Points to the setting to change, or to rebuilding the search index if the entry is missing.
Safety
Read-only: nothing in the shop changes, so there is no preview or undo step. Works in the free Audit edition and in whole-shop read-only mode.
