The problem

Our jackets come in 6 sizes and 4 colours. XXL should cost €5 more, every variant needs its own barcode, and stock comes from the supplier sheet.

What Claude does

  1. Claude lists every size and colour of the products with its price, code and stock.
  2. It matches your list to the variants and shows the changes side by side.
  3. After your yes it saves prices, codes and the default variant, then updates stock as a separate step.
  4. Sizes or colours that don't exist yet are added in the product form; Claude tells you which ones are missing.

What you get

Each variant shows the right price, barcode and stock, and the product page opens on the variant you chose.

You stay in control

You see every change before it is saved, nothing happens without your yes, and you can undo it later. Prices, discounts and stock stay switched off until you turn them on, and unusually large changes need an extra confirmation.

Step by step

  1. Lists combinations with ps_manage_combinations (action list): attributes, reference, EAN, price impact net/gross, final gross price, stock, default.
  2. Calls ps_manage_combinations (action update, up to 100 combinations): price_impact_gross, ean13, reference, default=true; preview and approval.
  3. Updates stock per combination with ps_update_stock (combination_id), recorded as stock movements.
  4. A promotion on one variant uses ps_manage_specific_prices with combination_id.
  5. The tool edits existing combinations only; generating new ones is done in the back office (Catalog > Product > Combinations).

Safety

Commerce (block 2) runs on the daily connector, is off after installation and has its own switch. Claude acts as the connector's PrestaShop employee, so the action must also be allowed in that employee's profile. Every write shows a preview, runs only after your approval (single-use token valid 30 minutes, blocked if the data changed in the back office in the meantime), is logged in the change history and can be undone with ps_revert_change. Price impact is relative to the base price, so a later base price change moves all variants.
